Miri: Thank Heaven for Little Girls

I’m not sure what to make of the episode known as Miri, so I did a little research and it turns out the British weren’t huge fans either. Don’t get me wrong, kids as villains is an interesting way to go (especially when the bulk of the kids belong to cast or crew members).

What’s off-putting is Kirk’s romantic interest. She’s a kid! I know, I know, he jokes at the end of the episode that he doesn’t date older women (she’s 300 years old because of a failed experiment) but they still zoom in on his face like he’s thinking about it. The fact that he doesn’t say anything along the lines of “she’s just a kid” is what gets people (like me) worried.

On a whistle-while-you-work note: the set for this episode was the set for The Andy Griffith Show which was also a Desilu production.
